what I have learned
Using sources to support your Ideas I
read chapter 26 I learn a lot about Acknowledging and how to avoid plagiarism
and leaned A lot that I can use on my writing about quoting , paraphrasing and
summarizing and I read some examples on how to put information from sources to
support my claims.
on chapter 7 Citing and documenting
sources in MLA style I learned so much, I did not Know what is MLA style until
my teacher explain it in this chapter I learned how to use it for my writing .
The book showed so many examples .
On chapter 32 in ST. Martin's guide to
writing the chapter talked on how to
work with others and how can we use other people experience to help us with our
work. when someone ells read my paper I
can get a different view and that help to make my writing beater
On chapter 33 in ST. Martin's guide to writing
I learned about writing in your community and how to use our service experience
as source material, like to find a topic and sources.
on chapter 2 in ST. Martin's guide to
writing, it talked about Remembering an Event this history and this is very important
to know about our country and everything happened in the past to learn from an
to document everything new so the next generation can learn from . and this
chapter I read some stories .it talked about edit and proofread our draft . how
to evaluating draft like getting critical reading. and choosing an event to write
about. how to make connections using humor and remembering idols.
I agree, these books have helped me avoid common mistakes like plagiarism.
ReplyDeleteHey Sharifa, I really liked how detailed you were about letting us know what helped you in the St. Martin's guide to writing. Most people just say that it helped, but you took the time to explain exactly what helped and where to find it. And what difference it made. Also I love your pictures. cute kids! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting on Sharifa's blog, Dylan/ Lindsay! I totally agree with Dylan. You have done a wonderful job detailing everything that helped you and what you specifically learned from certain passages/ sections.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're learning more about MLA after our PowerPoint discussion on that and plagiarism. Also, hopefully...as the book suggested, the Peer Reviews did help by letting you see what others think in general and about your writing. You actually contributed to writing about your community, as well...like the book suggested. I have enjoyed hearing about your process with your plaque/ statue you discussed with me in class :) So glad you have an appreciation of history and are learning from the readings!
See you next Wednesday!
